Name: Happy Lucky Kirakira Lucky
Format: CD / MP3
Singer: POP (Period of Plastic 2 Mercy)
Background: new alternative idol group POP's major debut single. The group is led by ex-BiS member Saki.
Tracklist:
(1) Happy Lucky Kirakira Lucky
(2) Alarm
Other:

[Extra] Writer's Thoughts:
Probably my favorite song by POP so far. It's a bit more generic than I thought it would be for an idol group led by Saki but it's still a little non-uniform so I suppose that's okay.

*available on USA iTunes store*
Album Commentary:
If I was forced to categorize and or describe this album is just two words I would without a doubt go for the phrase 'noise-rock'. Rako's style is wild, unpredictable, and very I-don't-give-a-f*ck. Her voice is a bit thin and nasally but not enough to bother the ears (unless you're sensitive to that kind of stuff).

Name: Fanfare [ファンファーレ]
Format: MP3
Singer: kotofolic
Background: first single of indie idol KOTO's band project 'kotofolic'
Tracklist:
(1) ファンファーレ
Other:
music video
*only available on OTOTOY*
Song Commentary:
For her band's debut KOTO strays from her normally more cute idol image and goes for a more daring look and vibe for Fanfare. This song does what her normally more 'idol' oriented past releases don't. It shows off her vocals and even gives her a more professional feel. Fanfare is without a doubt my favorite KOTO song and I hope to hear more from her band soon.

[Extra] Writer's Thoughts:
Senno is my favorite Oomorin album by far. It's unpredictable and addictive like a sour candy. My favorite track is track 2, of which I've linked as the first music video. It's adorable and eclectic as hell and I absolutely love the unique flavor Oomorin puts into all her works. But still....this album si definitely my favorite.

Album Commentary:
Karasu's music style if electronic sprinkled colorful funk-pop (kinda like Shiggy Jr.). This album is just that; a pure reflection of their advertised musical genre. Nothing really much else to say. It's a solid release and the band stays true to their roots. I like that.

(12) さよならモンスター
Other:
music video 1
music video 2
Album Commentary:
Mekakushi Terekakushi is a rather eclectic 12 track album of soft alternative melodies paired with Hirone-chan's whispery vocals. From the classic instruments such as acoustic guitar and strings to minimal electronic effects; this album has a lot to offer and is a big hit for me. There's no rock or happy pop in this release but the overall mellow vibes it sends off are enough to draw you in and listen to the whole thing out of pure curiosity if anything.
[Extra] Writer's Thoughts:
Love this album, seriously. Hirone-chan's style (both in singing and performance) is sort of like if Oomori Seiko was a considerably more chill. All tracks are beautifully composed and very easy on the ears.
