Album Commentary:
Unlike what you might expect from an album named after a sugary dessert, Drop's newest album DONUT actually consists of songs that are more on the mellow side. Although I must say I laughed really hard when listening to track 6, as it's literally about being a doughnut but the melody is very melancholy and slow. Amusing to say the least.
[Extra] Writer's Thoughts:
I must admit to liking this release the least out of all the Drop's albums so far. I don't know why they slowed down for this album but I personally didn't find it to my utmost liking. That's not to say I didn't like it at all; I wouldn't be writing this if I hadn't bought it for myself. But it's significantly different from all the other material they've put out. I wonder if this is the start of something....
